Shopping means to take things we need in exchange of money. The things may include food items, grocery, clothes, accessories, crockery, electronics, and other such items that we may need in our daily lives. These may also include making large purchases like a vehicle or a house.
In ancient times when human beings used to live in jungles, they had little requirements and used to fulfill their needs inside the jungles only. Nature provided bountiful of fruits and vegetables for nourishment, hunting provided for meat and animals’ skins for clothing.
After some progress, people started meeting their needs by exchanging things, popularly known as barter. In this system, one has to give something and in exchange they get something they really want. Next were the fairs and markets that developed with the advent of industrialization and urbanization, wherein people could exchange or buy products as per their requirement.
Nowadays there are many options for shopping as the markets are full of commodities and services. Modern shopping options include shops, shopping malls and online shopping. While talking about shops, the options available for shopping are limited; while in shopping malls unlimited options are available.
Online shopping has its own benefits and limitations; benefits like it saves our time and gives relief from traffic jam etc. The limitations are that we cannot see the product in its actual form and we cannot touch or feel the product. There may also be some hidden chargers which we may not be aware of, which may eventually increase the cost of our purchase.
While going for shopping, one should keep some tips in mind so that the possibilities of cheating can be avoided.
1. Make a list of things you need.
2. Make a budget about how much you can spend.
3. Don’t show excitement towards a particular product; be normal.
4. Know about discounts or any other offers available.
5. While shopping of an electronic product, gold or property collect all information about the same.
6. While checking out, check the items you shopped for are all the same you paid for.
There are many ways for shopping. Some people prefer window shopping. In this kind of shopping, it is not compulsory to purchase anything; one can choose thing for future shopping.
Above all shopping is fun for some people and inconvenient task for others. While shopping for colorful toy or latest jeans, kids and youngsters get excited and while shopping for microwave oven or blanket, middle age or old people got conscious. So it’s all about our choice and concern. Sometimes, shopping is a necessity and sometimes it is pure fun.
Whichever way we see it, we must shop carefully and make sure that we do not ‘shop till we drop’ under any circumstances.
